Mokokchung, 29 October (MTNews): The Nagaland Congress party undertook a crowdfunding drive for its candidate, Wanglem Konyak, who is contesting in the 43 Tapi AC for the bye-election as reported earlier by this newspaper.

According to X Chophika Sumi, NSUI Nagaland president, an amount of Rs 27,525 was raised in the last 5 days for the Congress candidate. While expressing gratitude to all who contributed, Sumi informed that the amount has been deposited in the NPCC account.

“The detailed list of the donors will be submitted to PCC and also be available for anyone who wishes to cross-check,” he added.

“It’s not about fighting with money; it’s about fighting with a commitment to development,” the NPCC President Supongmeren Jamir had earlier said to this newspaper.

“Our voters are equally committed to choosing a mass leader who can advocate for their rights in the Assembly, and Wanglem Konyak is the right leader for this role. He is a true mass leader,” the NPCC President had said.

Wangpang Konyak, 39, will be contesting against the NDPP candidate Wangpang Konyak in the bye-election.
