Meluri, 11 December (MTNews): The first Meluri Winter Fest is underway at Meluri local ground with the theme “Fostering Oneness.” The 2-day program (December 11 & 12, 2023) is initiated by ADC Meluri, Albert Ezung, organized by District Administration & Police in collaboration with Head of Offices Meluri, Village Council Meluri, Meluri Public Area Organisation (MAPO), Müluori Shefüri Kügharü (MSK), Müluori Küchienyiri Kügharü (MKK), Women Welfare Society Meluri Town, Meluri Town Business Union (MTBU), and Joint Wards Co-ordination Committee (JWCC).
The inaugural session was graced by Chonpa Jurry, President, Pochury Hoho, as the Special Guest. Jurry expressed his happiness and appreciation to ADC Meluri and the organizers for bringing out such a beautiful fest of its kind in Meluri and Pochury as a whole. He congratulated the organizers for setting an exemplary legacy that will go down memory lane. Jurry also dwelt on the theme “Fostering Oneness,” expressing hope that unity and oneness among brothers from various communities would bring harmony and peace not only to the denizens of Meluri and Pochury but also to the state and the nation as a whole.
Earlier, ADC Meluri Albert Ezung, in his keynote address, mentioned that this first-ever winter fest will prove to the outside world as a window to the Pochury land and its people. He was happy that the government of Nagaland has in principle acknowledged Meluri as a separate district and was hopeful that the aspirations of the people will be achieved very soon.
