The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in Nagaland has unveiled key initiatives and strategies, setting the stage for a dynamic future. N Bendang Jamir, the Working President of NDPP Nagaland State, took the spotlight as he highlighted Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s groundbreaking initiative. An annual review of all NDPP MLAs and constituencies has been set in motion, marking a significant shift in the party’s approach.
To ensure a thorough evaluation, Jamir stated that a six-member committee has been established at the party level. This is complemented by another committee formed from the legislators, all dedicated to the meticulous yearly review. According to the Working President, this review will determine who receives the party ticket during the next election.
Adding to the narrative, NDPP Mokokchung Region President Mayangnungba emphasized the party’s unique character, describing the NDPP as a “regional party with a national outlook.” He highlighted that in 2018, as per the seat sharing arrangement between the NDPP and the BJP, the 29 Jangpetkong AC was given to the BJP. However, the constituency has now been awarded the NDPP ticket, and, most fortunately, a dynamic leader in the person of Temjenmenba was elected on the NDPP ticket.
These revelations were made during an interface with the electorates of the 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency as part of the ongoing tour of the mega sensitization program for different governmental programs led by MLA & Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba. The tour commenced at Changki village on November 29, 2023. After a hiatus due to the Hornbill festival, the tour resumed on December 15 and concluded on Saturday, December 16. The tour covered all the villages and units under the constituency.
