In a comprehensive law and order report for the year 2023, Mokokchung Police revealed a total of 113 cases registered from 1 January to 31 December 2023 leading to the arrest of 192 individuals.

Among the various offenses, the highest number of cases was recorded under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and NLTP (Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition) Act, totaling 62 cases. Tragically, the report includes three murder cases, resulting in the apprehension of 11 individuals involved.

The police disclosed the seizure of significant quantities of illegal substances, including 353.81 grams of Brown Sugar, 2951 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 08 bottles of NOVOCOFF-CT cough syrups, and 07 Alprazolam tablets.

In addition to drug-related offenses, law enforcement authorities also cracked down on illicit liquor activities. The report outlined the seizure of 14,233 bottles of MC Rum, 786 bottles of whisky, and 3364 units of beer throughout the year.

The law enforcement agencies in Mokokchung also made notable strides in curbing arms, ammunition, and explosives. The detailed breakdown of these seizures included various firearms such as .32 pistols, AK series rifles, .38 pistols, 12-bore guns, .22 rifles, and even a .22 pen pistol, along with live rounds, crude bombs, gelatin sticks, detonators/caps, and fuse wire.
