ENPO demand ‘genuine’: Nagaland Congress President Supongmeren Jamir
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President, S Supongmeren Jamir said the demand of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) for Frontier Nagaland Territory is “genuine” and are fighting for their rights while accusing the central government of employing a divide and rule strategy in relation to the Frontier Nagaland issue.

Addressing a press conference today at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, the Nagaland Congress chief noted that the ENPO is seeking what the Government of India (GOI) has promised them. According to Jamir, ENPO has every right to express their dissatisfaction, and he criticized the BJP-led central government for taking misguided actions.

“We must demonstrate to the GoI that Nagas cannot be deceived by their tactics. As citizens, we consistently uphold truth and unity,” Nagaland Congress president S Supongmeren Jamir said.

He also opined that ENPO resolving not to participate in the upcoming election will affect the election process since they constitute 20 Assembly Constituencies.
