Mokokchung, March 6 (MTNews): Mokokchung Police has in the month of February 2022 seized various contraband items and IMFL, an update from the PRO and Additional SP, Mokokchung stated. As per the update, nine NLTP Act cases were registered under relevant section in different Police Stations in the district. A total of 3198 bottles of IMFL MC Rum, 46 bottles of Whisky and 84 canned beer was seized and arrested nine persons in this connection.
Further, 2.45 grams (Approx.) of suspected Brown Sugar was sized from a house at Majakong Ward Mokokchung. In this connection, one person namely Mr. Calvin Chishi, S/O[1]Zhukiye, Village- Akuluto, District- Zunheboto was arrested.
Further, 2250 packets of foreign made cigarettes (Made in Korea) worth around Rs. 9,00,000 /- were recovered and seized by the Police at Tsutapela Chect gate and arrested one person, namely Dilpar Mazumdar, V/O[1]Borput, Jorhat, Assam.
It was also stated that, during routine checking at Ari Junction under Mokokchung PS-II Jurisdiction, police recovered and seized 60 live rounds of .32 Ammunitions and one person, namely Malai, S/0- Sento, Village- Wui, District- Noklak was arrested.
All the persons involved in the cases were arrested and booked under relevant sections of law, it was stated.
