In light of the current political crisis in Myanmar, there has been an influx of individuals and groups into Naga-inhabited states such as Nagaland, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh. The majority of these individuals, particularly from Eastern Nagas, are fleeing the situation and seeking shelter in Nagaland. The Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) has stepped forward to address critical issues surrounding shelter, financial assistance, and fundraising efforts by various individuals and groups.

According to ENSA, they have learned that many people are taking advantage of the situation, especially under the Junta’s recently imposed conscription law, by seeking financial aid or donations under the guise of addressing Eastern Naga concerns. These claims are not always genuine and often serve their own interests and profit, said ENSA. Therefore, ENSA has urged residents and organizations not to provide any financial aid or donations without prior consent from ENSA.

ENSA has also warned that any activities carried out by individuals or groups without its knowledge should cease immediately.

“We request Naga-loving individuals, groups, and organizations to exercise caution and vigilance in these matters to avoid any unwanted circumstances and ensure security, peace, and unity among the Nagas,” it added.
Furthermore, ENSA clarified that neither it nor its federating units will bear any responsibility for uninformed issues or incidents. It advised residents to adhere to the association’s directives to prevent any unfortunate incidents.

“We appreciate every individual and group that continues to support Eastern Naga people and understands our living conditions and problems,” it added.
