The meeting of the State-Level Committee for Mission Shakti was held under the Chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr. J. Alam, IAS, on the 25th of June, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary, New Secretariat, Kohima. In attendance were AHODs and representatives from various converging departments.

The Secretary of Social Welfare, Martha R. Ritse, IAS, provided an introduction to Mission Shakti and gave an overview of the 100 Days Special Awareness Campaign under SANKALP–Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) on Women-Centric Schemes. This campaign, launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, will run from the 21st of June to the 4th of October, 2024.

The key objective is to ensure that women across the country are made aware of government initiatives and are able to access the resources and support available to them. Under the banner of SANKALP-HEW and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), special awareness campaigns are being carried out in all 16 districts of Nagaland. The State-Level Committee members participated in the program, and the Chief Secretary emphasized that this 100-day awareness campaign should be effectively implemented on the ground.

Presentations were made on the status of the implementation of the Mission Shakti Scheme in the state, and the Annual State Action Plan for Mission Shakti for the Financial Year 2024-25 was approved.

Joint deliberations were held to strengthen the convergent action plan for the implementation of various Mission Shakti Schemes, which include SANKALP-HEW, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sakhi-One Stop Centre, 181-Women Helpline, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Palna, Sakhi Niwas, and Shakti Sadan.
