Kohima, March 10 (MTNews): The Nationalistic Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has welcomed the unanimous decision taken by the Government of Nagaland along with all the stakeholders, including political parties, Tribal Hohos, Civil Society Organizations, Church bodies and NGOs to conduct elections to the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
The NDPP said in a press release that it was indeed a “red letter day” for Nagaland and believed that the urban development through the conduct of ULB elections will uplift the lives of the people. The party also believed that the resolution is a stepping stone towards having women representatives and encouraged the women to step forward in leading the people.
Further, the party expressed its appreciation and support towards the Indo-Naga talk resolution that called for ‘One Solution and One Agreement’.
The NDPP in conclusion appealed to the Government of Nagaland and the people of the State to work hand in hand in making the resolutions a reality with a vision to make a new Nagaland which the future generations will applaud and appreciate.
