Kohima, March 10 (MTNews): Describing the outcome of the consultative meeting on ULB Elections held yesterday as a “milestone for Naga women towards inclusive and active participation in decision making processes,” Chairperson of the Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), KhrienuoTachü, said today that it will uplift the status of women.
“I am extremely grateful to God and all stakeholders for the positive outcome relating to the Urban Local Bodies’ (ULB) election, to be conducted as per the 74th Amendment of the Constitution of India. This historic move has become a reality owing to the numerous mutual dialogues held among various stakeholders in the state, which is also a clear sign that mutual respect and sincere dialogue can help solve even the most difficult of issues,” she said in a statement.
“The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) expresses gratitude to the State Government for initiating consultative meeting with Civil Societies, Churches, Naga Women and the people of Nagaland, in their endeavour to include women in decision-making.
