The Arkong Ward Yimden conducted two surprise inspections within its jurisdiction for illegal liquor sales this month, on July 18 and July 23. During these operations, 12 families were caught violating the ward’s rules. An assortment of contraband liquor was seized during the inspection, which were destroyed today in the presence of church leaders.
According to the General Secretary of the Yimden, the families were summoned and subjected to appropriate penalties. Of the 12 families, six have pledged to halt their liquor sales and signed agreements to comply with the regulations moving forward.
The General Secretary said that the Yimden will continue to maintain strict vigilance and warned that any future violations will result in further penalties.
