In response to appeals from various District Chambers of Commerce, the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has requested the Chief Secretary to grant a one-month window period to sell off existing stock of single-use plastic plastic items, especially food and drinks products.

The government has acknowledged the CNCCI’s demands and has agreed to issue an order next week granting the one-month extension.

The CNCCI informed its confederating bodies that the government has appreciated their demands and will come up with order next week for 1 month window period to clear existing stock. However, the ban on import and production of single-use plastic items remains in effect, as stipulated in the original order.
