At approximately 2:50 pm today, 13 August, an oil tanker was involved in a road accident at Mission Ward, Pfutsero Town. The tanker, which was transporting 12,000 liters of diesel, was en route to Kezo Pump, Pfutsero when the accident occurred, the Phek Police reported. The tanker was driven by Bapitra Bora.

The cause of the accident has been determined to be the result of narrow and loose soil conditions on the road. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. However, a nearby godown, which stored rice, dal, onion, and other goods, sustained significant damage.

According to the police, the fire that resulted from the incident was successfully extinguished after about two hours, following prompt response from Fire Services Pfutsero, Phek Police, 45 AR, and local residents of Pfutsero Town. The driver is currently at Pfutsero Police Station, where further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
