A felicitation program was organized by the Kohima Sümi Officers’ Küqhakulu in collaboration with the Kohima Sümi Hoho, Kohima Sümi Totimi Hoho, and the Kohima Sümi Students’ Union at Mount Olive College, Kohima, on August 15, 2024, to honor Tolino Chishi, who cleared the 2023 UPSC exam, securing an All India Rank of 431 and joining the esteemed IAS Cadre.

During the event, Warren Holohon Yepthomi, President of KSOK, in his welcome address, highlighted that the Sümi community secured its first IAS in 1982, its second in 1996, and after a 28-year gap, Tolino Chishi has broken the barrier by clearing the UPSC civil service exam and becoming the third Sümi regular recruit to the IAS.

K Shiwoto Wotsa, President of the Kohima Sümi Hoho, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to Tolino Chishi on behalf of the Sümi community, stating that her achievement fulfills a long-awaited dream and aspiration of the community.

Tolino Chishi, IAS, shared that she was born and raised in Kohima, where she did her schooling. Despite her family relocating to Dimapur, she considers Kohima her home. Chishi expressed gratitude to her parents, Er Kasho and her mother, Mitoli, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout her life.

Tolino Chishi emphasized the importance of having big dreams and working hard to achieve them, setting an example for the community to progress and encourage one another. She wished for more aspirants to turn their dreams into reality.

She thanked the organizers for the grand program and for all the gifts, love, support, and prayers. She appreciated everyone for considering her achievement not just as her own but as a collective achievement of the community.

Jehu Kinimi, President of KSSU, stated that Tolino’s achievement would serve as a role model for young civil service aspirants. Piholi Swunetho, President of KSTH, added that Tolino’s success is also a reflection of the good deeds of her grandfather, Hokhuvi, who sincerely served as a pastor, and that this blessing has manifested in his grandchild, Tolino, securing the prestigious IAS position.
