Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) Short Term Training (STT) scheme, a certification program for weavers was held on August 21, 2024, at the North Eastern Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation (NEHHDC) center at Blue Hill Colony, Wokha.
Functional Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Wokha, Mhabemo Lotha, addressed the trainees during the programme and encouraged them to apply the skills learned for productive purposes, highlighting the vital role weaving plays in providing employment opportunities.
Short speeches were also delivered by Skill Development Officer and Project Manager, Wokha, Anuranjan Singh, and Executive of NEHHDC, Bidyut Sharma. The highlights of the PMKVY STT scheme were presented by Chonchio M Ezung.
The three-month training was attended by 57 trainees, of whom 32 were awarded certificates of completion, handed over by the Functional Manager, DIC Wokha.
The training course was conducted by Charity Club Multipurpose Society under the guidance of the nodal agency NEHHDC, Guwahati.
