“The City Barn,” a health center for adolescents under 24, was inaugurated by Zavito Ltu, EAC Dimapur Sardar, today, August 23, 2023, at SuperMarket, Dimapur.
The program was moderated by Sukhrieno Luho, City Barn Coordinator. It was followed by an invocation led by Zubenthung N. Shitio, Youth Director of Lotha Baptist Church. Chenithung Humtsoe, Director of BYWCD, discussed the purpose and mission of City Barn and its role in helping youngsters with psycho-social issues. He also highlighted the importance of ‘True Love Waits’ and encouraged using social media as a platform for youths to seek services and address stigma. He suggested that churches play a role in promoting such services to improve early health-seeking behavior.

Special Guest Zavito Ltu urged participants, especially youngsters, to be aware of their socio-psychological environments amid rapid urbanization. He commended Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre for its efforts and acknowledged support from the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and NACO. The EAC pledged support for the program’s success and appreciated NGOs running similar centers across the state.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Enoch Kithan, followed by a benediction by Pastor Romeo Sumi of Nagamese Baptist Church, Burma Camp.
