The Kisetong Village Students’ Union (KVSU) organized a seminar on August 27 at Kisetong village in  Kiphire highlighting the crucial role of rural libraries in promoting knowledge and community development. The event, themed “Importance of Rural Libraries,” featured K Rothrongki Sangtam, Patron and Proprietor of Trinity School Kiphire and former President of KVSU, as the resource person.


Sangtam emphasized the significance of libraries as institutions that foster knowledge, enhance reading and writing skills, and provide access to lifelong learning opportunities. He also stressed their role as social hubs that bring communities together, cultivate a love for reading, and promote social cohesion.

The seminar, chaired by Lumrila, began with a welcome address by the Executive Chairman of KVSU and an invocation by Pastor KBL. Thsikichum Sangtam, President of KVSU, expressed his gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the event a resounding success.

The seminar underscored the importance of rural libraries in empowering communities and promoting education. By highlighting the value of libraries, KVSU aims to inspire and encourage individuals to develop a reading habit.
