The Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vila) has officially responded to the recent rumors circulating on social media regarding a supposed letter to the Governor of Nagaland. This purported letter claimed that various political parties, including the NPF and the LJP (RV), intended to withdraw their support from the present government.

In a statement released by the party, the NPF expressed that it does not find merit in addressing the contents of the alleged letter. However, the party felt compelled to clarify its position due to its name being mentioned in connection with these claims. The NPF stated it remains unaware of any such development and affirmed its continued support for the government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

The party clarified that a letter has been officially communicated to the Chief Minister during the formation of the present government to strengthen the ongoing peace process and to bring about an early honourable solution to the protracted Naga political issue.
“The party is still committed to the resolution of the Naga political issue and for which the party once again reiterates its letter of support to the present government for the sake of the Naga political issue,” the statement said, adding that the decision taken cannot be withdrawn overnight.

While reiterating their support for the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government, the NPF acknowledged its identity as a separate political entity. The party affirmed its responsibility to address the issues facing the Naga people and the broader Indigenous communities of the Northeast.

In a related statement, the Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas Nagaland State President, S Richard Humtsoe, also clarified the situation. He dismissed the circulated letter as mere rumors, stating that no key leaders from the coalition parties had signed it and that they were entirely unaware of its existence. Furthermore, he confirmed that the letter had not reached any competent authority officially.

The Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas, which holds two seats in the state legislature and five in the Lok Sabha, reaffirmed its support for the ruling PDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. Humtsoe emphasized the party’s commitment to the government, backed by the National President of the Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas, Chirag Paswan, who serves as the Union Cabinet Minister for Food Processing Industries.
