In an effort to enable the shift from rote learning to higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in education, the NECTAR project is collaborating with the NBSE to strengthen evaluation practices under the Exam Reforms component. According to an update received here, Educational Initiatives (Ei) has been onboarded by the project to implement this program.

In line with this, a two-day workshop on ‘Strengthening Evaluation Practices’ commenced on 15 October 2024. A total of 147 examiners and head examiners of Classes 9 and 10 for four subjects from both government and private schools will be trained to reduce inter-rater variability and improve overall evaluation practices in the state.

The workshop is being held at the Directorate of School Education and the NBSE office in Kohima and will conclude on 16 October.
