Nagaland continued their impressive run in the 2024-2025 Ranji Trophy Plate Group with a comfortable 147-run victory over Manipur, marking their second consecutive win.

Nischal Dega’s standout performance, scoring 154 off 228 balls, earned him Player of the Match. His century, combined with Hem’s steady 90, helped Nagaland build a strong second innings after being bowled out for 237 in the first innings. Sedezhalie Rupreo and Hokaito Zhimomi contributed 57 and 55 runs, respectively.

Manipur struggled in their first innings, managing only 139, with Nagaland’s Suchith J taking 5 wickets for 52 runs. Captain Jonathan also claimed 3 wickets.

Although Priyojit K’s gritty 89 anchored Manipur’s second innings, they were eventually bowled out for 257. Jonathan and Suchith shared the spoils, taking 5 and 3 wickets, respectively.

Nagaland will now prepare for their next challenge, an away game against Goa at the Panjim Gymkhana Ground, Panaji, scheduled for October 26th, 2024. Earlier, Nagaland beat Arunachal Pradesh by an innings and 290 runs in their first match.
