Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung conducted training cum farmers scientist interaction on 26 October for the farmers under Tsusangra Nemna Valley Farmers Society at Tuli Town Hall. The program was attended by 40 farmers wherein the resource persons for the technical session were Imtisenla (ACTO Agronomy), Khekali Sema (ACTO Horticulture) and Imtilemla (ACTO Soil Conservation).
The topics covered included the various sustainable practices for foothill agriculture like adopting short and medium duration rice varieties, double cropping, soil nutrient management, soil testing, water management and importance and scope of vegetable farming, package of practice of different winter vegetables, preparation and maintenance of winter vegetable nursery beds, etc.
They also conducted an interaction session where the farmers highlighted the problems they faced like pest, disease and nutrient management in different crops which was responded to and addressed by providing solutions by the subject experts.
The program concluded by distributing winter vegetable seeds, waste decomposer, biofertilizers, etc.
