On Day 3 of his tour of National Highway (NH) projects, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang visited various sites along the ongoing NH-02 roadworks. At Old Mangakhi, Zeliang met the survey team for NH-202 Package-I, a project being overseen by Consultant Group CM Engineering. The Deputy CM expressed optimism about the project, stating that at the current pace, the remaining stretch of Package-I should be completed by the end of November 2024.


The tour continued with a sumptuous lunch at Old Mangakhi, hosted by Advisor Sethrongkyu, to whom Zeliang expressed gratitude for the hospitality. During the visit, Zeliang interacted with the contractor, M/s UCN Construction Co Pvt. Ltd., which is managing the work from Chuchuyimpang (0 km) to Chare (39 km). The contractor reported that the work is progressing well, with a target completion date of June 18, 2025. Zeliang wished them success and urged them to maintain high standards of workmanship for the remaining tasks.

Zeliang also inspected the newly completed 2-lane section of NH-02, from Yisemyong (168 km) to Unger (185 km), which had shown signs of damage. He directed the Executive Engineer of the Mokokchung Division to ensure immediate repairs to prevent further deterioration.

Later, Zeliang met with M/s KKB Project Pvt. Ltd., the firm responsible for the 2-laning work from Unger (185 km) to Tuli (220 km). While acknowledging that the work was behind schedule, the contractor assured Zeliang that the revised completion date of March 22, 2025, would be met, with a focus on maintaining quality.
