A seminar-cum-interaction program titled “Empowering Minds, Shaping Futures: The STEM Way” was held at Livingstone Foundation International on November 13, 2024. The event, conducted in the LFI Auditorium from 2:00 PM onwards, primarily aimed to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, highlighting its importance in equipping students with essential skills for a technology-driven future.
Students and teachers from several CBSE schools in Dimapur and nearby areas participated in the program.
The main resource person was Prof Shalabh, Dean of Academic Affairs at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. He was joined by Ajay Sethi, Managing Director, and Er Rishabh Sethi, CEO of the Nationalist Institute of Technology & Innovation (NITI). NITI played a crucial role in conducting and sponsoring the program.
Prof Shalabh shared valuable insights into the pivotal role of STEM education in shaping future innovators and problem-solvers. The session included an interactive segment, allowing students and educators to engage directly with Prof. Shalabh and gain practical perspectives on STEM’s transformative potential in education. Additionally, Prof Shalabh shared information about the IITs in India, with a particular focus on IIT Kanpur as an elite institute offering state-of-the-art facilities for students pursuing higher education in diverse fields.
An important highlight of the program was the announcement by NITI of special educational and career guidance programs for NEET and JEE aspirants, along with scholarships for meritorious students from Nagaland.
