The highly anticipated “battle of generations” between legendary boxer Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul will take place on Friday, November 15, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Originally scheduled for July 20, the fight had to be postponed due to Tyson’s ulcer. What makes this bout particularly intriguing is the significant age gap between the two fighters: Tyson is 58 years old, while Paul is only 27.
This fight marks a monumental return for Mike Tyson, who has been out of the ring for 19 years after retiring in 2005 following a loss to Kevin McBride. Tyson, the youngest-ever fighter to win the world heavyweight title at 20 years old in 1986, has a remarkable 88% win record, having claimed victory in 50 out of 58 professional bouts. Fans of Tyson, often affectionately called “Iron Mike,” are eagerly anticipating his comeback and hoping for another spectacular performance.
On the other hand, Jake Paul is on the hunt for his biggest victory yet. Since starting his boxing career in 2018, Paul boasts an impressive 10-1 record, with his last three victories in 2023 coming by knockout, including two first-round stoppages. Known for his knockout power, Paul is eager to prove himself against the boxing legend.
Several modifications have been made to the fight. Unlike typical professional bouts, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight will consist of eight rounds instead of 10 or 12, with two-minute rounds instead of three. The fighters will also wear 14-ounce gloves, heavier than the usual 10-ounce gloves, to reduce the likelihood of a knockout and minimize the risk of cuts and swelling.
The fight will be streamed live exclusively on Netflix at 8 PM ET on November 15 (6:30 AM IST on November 16).
