The Nagaland Super League (NSL) on Tuesday unveiled its official logo – ”a symbol that captures the league’s vision, cultural heritage and the unifying power of sports.”
The logo’s minimalist design blends modernity with the deep cultural roots of Nagaland, representing the league’s strong foundation, present excitement and ambitious future, the NSL said in a press release.
The final NSL Logo was inspired by the submission of Achumi Takumi and further modified and conceptualized by the NSL Media team as per the advisory of the NSL Governing Body. “The logo is a powerful fusion of Nagaland’s cultural identity and athletic spirit,” NSL said.
NSL stated that, while the logo remains true to its cultural origins, it has been refined with contemporary design elements to appeal to modern audiences. “This timeless emblem bridges Nagaland’s rich past and its dynamic present, encapsulating the pride and enduring spirit of its people,” it added.
“The NSL envisions using the transformative power of sport to unify communities, showcase the talent of Nagaland and elevate it to national and global platforms. The league aims to promote the values of unity, pride, excellence and success through football,” it further said.
The Nagaland Super League will officially launch on 28 January 2025 at the Football Turf in Chümoukedima.
Key design elements of the NSL logo:
· The shield serves as the central frame of the logo, inspired by the traditional Naga Warrior shields, symbolizing strength and resilience. Its curved, protected shape symbolizes the league’s role in safeguarding and fostering Nagaland’s passion for football while evoking pride and unity.
· At the core is the Mithun, the state animal of Nagaland, which symbolizes strength, resilience and unity. Deeply rooted in Naga traditions, the Mithun reflects the shared value of perseverance and courage that define Naga society. Its inclusion in the NSL logo aligns with its prominent presence in the official emblems of both the Government of Nagaland and the Nagaland Football Association, reinforcing the spirit of oneness and pride.
· Gold: The prominent gold accents represent excellence, triumph and prestige, emphasizing the league’s competitive stature.
· Navy Blue: The deep navy blue background conveys stability, trust and determination reflecting the league’s steadfast spirit and commitment.
· A football lies at the heart of the logo design, seamlessly merging Nagaland’s traditions with its modern enthusiasm for sports. It symbolizes the vibrant passion for football that resonates throughout the state, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
