Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, visited the Konyak Heritage Site in Mon on January 20, 2025. The Chief Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Forests, Environment & Climate Change and Village Guards, C.L. John, and the President of the NDDP, Chingwang Konyak.
Speaking to the gathering, Rio expressed his gratitude to all the participants, the administration, civil societies, landowners, and workers for their efforts thus far. He stated that unity and cooperation are essential for development in any society. Rio encouraged the people to cooperate and continue their support to ensure the completion of work on the heritage site.
Konyak Union President, Tingtok Konyak shared a welcoming address while the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS thanked the Chief Minister and his team for their visit. Short speech was also delivered by the Konyak Heritage Management Community.
He emphasized the importance of quality control to carry out the work properly and complete it on time. He also reminded the concerned departments to ensure electricity and water supply connectivity to the heritage site. Rio informed the gathering that all construction works would be completed within two months and are expected to be inaugurated in the first week of April 2025.
