Nagaland clinched two bronze medals in women’s boxing at the ongoing National Games 2025 in Uttarakhand. Renu secured a medal in the 75 kg category, while Sanju earned bronze in the 66 kg division. Both boxers advanced to the semi-finals but fell short against the eventual champions—Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain in the 75 kg category and Ankushita Boro in the 66 kg category.
Medal Tally: Services on top with 71 medals
The 38th edition of the National Games is currently being held in Uttarakhand with 28 states, eight union territories and the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) participating.
Services currently leads the standings with 71 medals – 42 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze. Karnataka has 62 medals (31 gold, 13 silver and 18 bronze), and is second in the medals tally.
The National Games 2025 began on January 28 and will continue till February 14.
Nagaland, Puducherry and Sikkim are yet to register a gold medal in the competition.
