The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Phek Government College organized an employment-linked career guidance programme on the Aviation, Hospitality, and Cruise Line sectors in India and overseas on February 12, 2025, at the college campus.
This program was held in collaboration with Eagle Crest Training Academy and Consultancy (ECTAC), Dimapur, with Imsumeren (Hospitality Trainer-cum-Business Development Executive) as the resource person. He briefly introduced ECTAC, a training and consultancy institute registered under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skill Development Corporation, and Skill India Institutional, Government of India, specializing in the Aviation, Hospitality, and Cruise Line sectors.
The event commenced with a warm welcome note by Dr T Tiakaba Jamir, Principal of Phek Government College, who emphasized the importance of organizing such events to sensitize students about the plethora of opportunities available in these sectors.
Imsumeren engaged the audience in an interactive session, providing detailed insights into the Aviation, Hospitality, and Cruise Line industries. He elaborated on eligibility criteria, training processes, placement opportunities, campus recruitment, salary packages, and the Skill Loan Scheme available for students.
The Skill Loan Scheme, an initiative of ECTAC in collaboration with IDAN, Government of India, was highlighted as a significant financial support mechanism. He also emphasized the cordial, warm, and accommodating nature of people from Northeast India, along with their steadfast learning abilities, as advantages in these industries.
A Q&A session followed, where queries regarding course duration, fee structure, and placement opportunities were addressed. Mr. Imsumeren noted that trainees fail to secure placements only when they refuse to attend interviews or give up on applying, which hinders their career growth.
An MoU was signed between ECTAC and Phek Government College for a period of five years, aiming to foster future collaborations. Under this agreement, ECTAC will provide training and internship opportunities, while the college will assist in inviting applications and screening student data.
The program concluded successfully, proving to be highly beneficial for the students.
