In alignment with the directives from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Governor of Nagaland has constituted the State Level Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan Committee, aimed at addressing the growing concerns of substance abuse in the state.

The committee, which will play a pivotal role in the state’s anti-drug initiatives, comprises a range of government officials, representatives from various sectors, and NGOs working in the field of drugs. The first meeting of the committee will be held on 24th February 2025 at 1:00 PM in the office chamber of the Commissioner & Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, Kohima.

The members of the newly formed committee are as follows:

1. Secretary, Social Welfare – Chairperson
2. Director General of Police/Representative – Member
3. Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare/Representative – Member
4. Narcotics Control Bureau – Members
5. Director, Higher Education – Member
6. Principal Director, School Education – Members
7. NGOs working in the field of drugs – Members
· Ark Foundation
· Youth Mission
· Kripa Foundation
8. Retired Senior Civil Servants – 3 members nominated by the Secretary
9. Director, Social Welfare – Member
10. Director, Information and Public Relations – Member
11. PMU – State Coordinator
12. FINGODAP – Representative
13. SLCA (State Level Coordinating Agency) – Member Secretary of the Committee
