Kohima Press Club (KPC) expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of its valued member, Wapangnungsang Pongen, who passed away on May 24.

Pongen was a full-time correspondent for the Ao vernacular monthly magazine Lenjeter and had been an active member of the Kohima Press Club for over three years. Remembered as a jovial and humble young journalist, he was known for his enthusiasm and dedication to the club’s activities.

In a statement, the KPC noted, “In his untimely demise, we have lost not just a young colleague but an efficient and active member whose absence will be deeply felt in the days to come. His memory will live on in our hearts.”

The Press Club extended its heartfelt condolences to his family and all who were touched by his life. “While mourning his demise along with the bereaved family members, we pray that God grant them strength and solace as they grieve the loss of a promising son. We also offer prayers that his soul will rest in eternal peace,” the statement added.

The condolence message was signed by Alice Yhoshü, President, and Vishü Rita Krocha, General Secretary of the Kohima Press Club.
