Korean diplomat says Nagaland would be his “preferred choice”
The Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, hosted a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Korea on May 28, 2025, at the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima.
The Korean delegation was led by Sang Woo Lim, Deputy Chief of Mission, while the host team from Nagaland was headed by Hekani Jakhalu, MLA & Advisor, Industries & Commerce, and P Tokugha Sema, Director of Industries & Commerce, along with other senior officials of the department.

According to a DIPR report, “the primary agenda of the meeting was to explore avenues for future collaboration between Nagaland and Korea in the fields of trade, investment, technology exchange and capacity building.” The two sides engaged in detailed discussions covering sectors such as agro-processing, handicrafts, textiles, human resource development, logistics and sustainable industries—fields identified as combining Nagaland’s unique strengths with Korea’s advanced technology and market linkages.
Welcoming the delegation, the Director of Industries & Commerce expressed his eagerness to build “meaningful partnerships that can foster economic development and create employment opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.”
Advisor Hekani Jakhalu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting investments and collaborations. “Nagaland has a lot of untapped potential in areas like agro-processing, handloom and handicrafts, organic farming, health sector and tourism,” she said, adding that “efforts can be made to attract both local and international partners, boost the economy, and create more job and skill-building opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.”
Sang Woo Lim, visibly appreciative of the reception, said, “If I were to invest in India, Nagaland would be my preferred choice.” He further stated, “We are happy and enthusiastic to be collaborating with the Government of Nagaland,” and reaffirmed Korea’s strong interest in the Northeast, particularly Nagaland, for “mutually beneficial partnerships.”
Highlighting Korea’s strength in “innovation and small and medium enterprise (SME) development and human resource development,” Lim emphasized how these capabilities could complement Nagaland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The meeting also touched on the importance of cultural and educational exchange, especially expanding Korean language education in Nagaland. Both sides agreed to initiate follow-up discussions to identify concrete projects and areas of collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to “strengthening ties and fostering people-to-people and institutional connections.”

I was chatting in gaming group and someone mentioned betking as good place for betting. I checked it and was surprised how many sports they have. New user bonus was good, also regular tournaments and free spin giveaways. Site felt trustable and clean, not too messy like others. I stayed cause it felt more real than flashy.
