PHED Mokokchung Division celebrated Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 at Government High School Kangtsung, Tuli Block, with active participation from students, teachers, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, as well as WATSAN members of the village.
The event aimed to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene management and the safe disposal of menstrual waste. During the event District coordinator shared the importance of practicing Menstrual Hygiene and also Safe Disposal of menstrual waste. She shared that mensuration is not just a women issue but it’s a human issue.
She urged the male gender to be more considerate, Supportive and respectful to the female gender during this time of the month. As part of the initiative, locally produced biodegradable sanitary pads were distributed to all participants. A short skit on Menstrual Hygiene was performed by the students and a quiz session was also conducted, during which gift hampers were presented to the winners.
Additionally, a Menstrual Hygiene Corner was established in the school to promote sustained awareness and ensure access to essential hygiene materials for students.
