The Pathso Nokeng Students’ Union (PNSU), Noklak has demanded justice following the mysterious and tragic death of one of its members, Pesha Khiamniungan, whose body was recovered in Dimapur on May 24, 2025.
In a press release, the union expressed deep shock and outrage over the circumstances of Pesha’s demise, questioning the events leading up to and following his death. The PNSU highlighted serious concerns about the alleged concealment of the incident by his companion for more than a week, as well as the inconsistencies in statements given to investigators and the unexplained absence of Pesha’s personal belongings.
“The contradicting statements, falsifying facts to the investigators and non-recovery of Pesha’s possessions are red flags and obstructions to the process of investigation,” PNSU stated.
The union also pointed to revelations emerging from digital sources, which they say expose the suspect’s apparent “consciousness of guilt.” These digital findings, according to the union, strengthen suspicions of possible foul play.
“The shocking expose by the digital trials proved otherwise and showed that the suspect has displayed consciousness of guilt in due course of the investigation and gave enough room for suspicion of being foul played,” it said.
As such, the PNSU strongly urged the “responsible authorities for a swift and thorough investigation to uncover the entire truth and deliver justice to the victim.”
The union also extended gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly that led to the eventual recovery of Pesha’s body. The union also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed for strength and comfort for them during this difficult time.
