Announcement made during two-day car mela held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex from June 10-11

A Mahindra showroom and authorized service centre will soon be established in Mokokchung. The announcement was made by Mhabemo, Up-Country Manager, during a two-day Car Mela organized by Apex Motor Enterprise and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Dimapur, in collaboration with Bharat Benz, held at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. The Car Mela began on June 10 and will continue until June 11.
According to Mhabemo, the upcoming showroom is expected to be located in Yimyu Ward. Construction and renovation work is reportedly underway, and the facility is likely to be operational within the next 4 to 6 months. He also stated that all the work is being carried out in a “hasty” manner to ensure it is ready at the earliest. However, he said, the completion will depend a lot on the weather condition.
“There is very high demand for Mahindra vehicles in Mokokchung. At the same time, there is strong market potential here,” he said, adding that setting up a showroom and service centre is a step toward meeting that demand locally.
The ongoing Car Mela features six vehicles from Mahindra’s and Bharat Benz’s lineup: Mahindra ROXX, SCO-N, MaxxHD, XUV700, XUV3XO, and the 0 1926.
This is the first Car Mela by Mahindra in Mokokchung, following a similar event held earlier in Pfutsero. According to Mhabemo, they received numerous enquiries and servicing requests from Mokokchung residents, which prompted them to bring the mela to the town.
Speaking about the overall experience of the mela, he thanked the Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM), Spearheads Mokokchung, and the MMC for their support and cooperation.
He also noted a positive response from the public, with several potential buyers showing interest in the displayed models.
Meanwhile, representatives from Bharat Benz expressed optimism, stating that despite being relatively new, Bharat Benz was able to catch up with competitors like Ashok Leyland and TATA.
The mela also offered spot financing from SBI, with HDFC Bank likely to join on Wednesday.
Test drives and exchange bonuses were also part of the mela.
