The Department of Industries & Commerce has issued a press release clarifying that applications under the PM Vishwakarma and Udyam Registration schemes are completely free of cost, as per official government guidelines.
The department stated that it has come to its attention that certain private individuals and entities have been offering assistance with registration for these schemes and, in some cases, charging unsuspecting applicants a fee for the service.
While individuals may choose to avail third-party services at their own discretion, no one is authorized to collect any fee in the name of the government for applying under PM Vishwakarma or Udyam Registration, the department emphasized.
Citizens have been urged to stay alert and report any incident of unauthorized fee collection to their respective District Industries Centres. The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring that eligible citizens are able to access government schemes in a transparent and hassle-free manner, without any financial burden.
For queries or to lodge grievances, the public may contact the department’s helpline at 84130 78294.
