Advisor for Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, Wangpang Konyak has formally handed over Smartphone to 20 (twenty) Anganwadi Workers of the Jalukie ICDS Project under the Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 Scheme during a program held at St Xavier’s Parish, Jubilee Hall, Jalukie Town on 27th June, 2025.

Konyak stated that besides the distribution of Smartphone, the primary purpose of his visit was to assess and gather first-hand information on the key issues and challenges faced by the department, particularly by the Anganwadi Workers in the district.

Emphasizing the humanitarian role of the Social Welfare Department, he reminded the officers and staff to remain stationed at their respective postings and work with sincerity, as their active presence would bring positive change to society.

The Advisor also urged department officials and staff in the district to maintain close coordination with the district administration to ensure the smooth implementation of various welfare schemes. Wangpang stressed the importance of raising awareness among villagers regarding the different schemes being implemented by the department. He encouraged the officials and Anganwadi Workers to actively disseminate information so that the benefits of these schemes reach the grassroots level.

Highlighting the issue of bogus entries in the old age pension schemes in the state, Wangpang called upon the concerned officials and Anganwadi Workers to identify and verify wrongful beneficiaries, remove their names from the records, and submit monthly report to the department.

Speaking on the significance of Smartphone distribution, Wangpang noted that the initiative aims to make the work of Anganwadi Workers not only easier but more efficient, enabling real-time monitoring and timely reporting. He emphasized that with these smart phones there should be no room for excuses in carrying out their duties. He further encouraged the workers to make the best use of this opportunity and continue to work with passion and dedication.
