Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L. Imchen, graced the Tsüngremmung Festival celebration at Khensa Village as the Special Guest on 1st August 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, Imchen expressed his belief that the Ao tribe is one of God’s chosen tribes among the Nagas. He said, “Apart from many things, God has given the opportunity to the Ao tribe to be His followers.” He noted that cultural festivals like Tsüngremmung offer every tribe the opportunity to preserve their traditions. However, he urged the community not to forget the tenets of their faith, reminding them to live as God desires.
The Advisor also acknowledged the efforts of the Khensa Students’ Union in organising the festival with grandeur. Highlighting Khensa’s distinction as the most literate village under the 28 Koridang Constituency, Imchen said the village must continue to be a torchbearer, leading the constituency forward in all spheres.
Tsüngremmung, a major pre-harvest festival of the Ao Nagas, marks the end of the farming season and the beginning of the harvest, celebrated with gratitude, joy, and communal bonding.
Earlier in the day, Imchen also attended the festival at Longsa Village as the Guest of Honour.
