The Office of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Meluri, successfully organized the District-Level Science Quiz Competition 2025 under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) at EBRC Hall, Meluri, today. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from eight government schools across Meluri District, with the aim of fostering scientific curiosity and innovation among students.
The program began with a welcome address by Mr. Amo Thurr, Coordinator, EBRC Meluri, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Kaitunchap Newmai, SDEO Meluri. He emphasized the importance of making science and mathematics joyful experiences that inspire creativity and problem-solving skills.
Guest Speaker Dr. Ngailong L. Phom, Dental Surgeon (M.O), CHC Meluri, encouraged the students to set clear goals in life and pursue them with determination, discipline, and faith. He reminded them that competition is inevitable, and success requires perseverance, self-belief, and continuous learning.
The quiz, conducted by Quiz Master Mr. Thomas Pichurii, featured a variety of rounds including Subject-Specific, Rapid Fire, Buzzer, Visual, and Double Trouble. After a competitive contest, the winners were: First Prize: Jinley Pechungri, Class 7, GHS Sutsü; Second Prize: Mzantsa, Class 7, GHS Phokhungri; and Third Prize: Makolo Pfithu, Class 8, GHS Phoyisha.
The winners received cash prizes and Certificates of Merit, while all participants were awarded Certificates of Participation.
SDEO Newmai congratulated the winners and participants, thanked teachers, the quiz master, supporting staff, and the organizing team for their dedication, and officially declared the event concluded.
“The event concluded with a group photograph and refreshments, leaving behind a strong message of curiosity, learning, and determination for the students of Meluri Sub-Division,” an update received here stated.
