Speaking at the launch, Viketuno Rio shared her special fondness for children’s books, noting their simplicity and depth that often surpass expectations. Commending the author’s rare gift for crafting stories that appear effortless, she stated that with the launch of the book, they are celebrating friendship, the gift of creativity and imagination, and the power of storytelling. She expressed hope that the newly released book would find its way into many homes, inspiring and bringing hope to countless readers.

Author Kevi Z Kevichüsa highlighted that the 50-multi-coloured-pages book contains elements of disappointment, some sacrifice, and redemptive justice. She added that stories that inspire and move us are often borrowed from the greatest story of all time, “the one that started from the Garden of Eden, the story about love, covenant and relentless pursuit and heartbreak and betrayal and exile, all culminating at Calvary with sacrifice and restoration.” She also acknowledged PenThrill for adopting her book and praised their vision and commitment toward making publishing accessible. “Nino’s Secret Friend” is her second book and marks the 110th publication of PenThrill. Her first book, “Nino’s Secret Garden,” was published in 2021.

Delivering the publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha emphasised the importance of Naga Children’s Literature, noting that it inspires children and lays the foundation for aspiring writers to create locally relevant stories. She said the book provides children with an opportunity to connect to their Naga roots and added, “It’s not only the children who benefit from it but even us as adults, we have a chance to reclaim our lost childhood.” Visasier K gave the welcome note, Alongla P. Aier offered the dedicatory prayer, and Koko Savino presented a special number during the programme.
