The NQAS external assessment of HWC Longkong, Mokokchung was conducted on August 30, 2025.
Opening the assessment, Matsungshila, CHO, HWC Longkong, welcomed the two-member team of empaneled external assessors, Dr. Rajeev Kumar (District Consultant, Quality Assurance, Rohtas, Bihar) and K. Dharani Devi (DPHNO, State Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Khanapara, Guwahati, Assam), along with Dr. Imlinoba Changkiri, DQM Dimapur, facilitator from DHFW Kohima, staff from HWC Longkong, Chairman VHC, community members, and staff from the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, led by Dr Takosunep Ao, Deputy CMO Mokokchung.
She gave an overview of HWC Longkong through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting its infrastructure, manpower, functioning, achievements, vision and mission. She also made special mention of the continual support provided by the community, led by the church and the chairman of Longkong Village Council, which has enabled various infrastructural innovations in the health centre.
Dr. Rajeev Kumar and K. Dharani Devi, remarking on their visit, stated that the NQAS assessment is a great opportunity for the facility to learn and should not be seen as scrutiny but as a chance for improvement.
The NQAS certification program, launched in 2013, is the highest national quality certification for public health facilities. The certification is awarded upon fulfilling the national quality assurance standard criteria accredited by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).
