Replying to a question raised by MLA Kevipodi Sophie on the progress and status of the two-lane road project (Package-4) from D-Khel, Kohima Village to Kigwema Village, Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang on Thursday informed the Nagaland Legislative Assembly that the project is being implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

Zeliang clarified that the contractors for the project are selected by MoRTH and that the State Government has no role in the selection process. He stated that the delay in completion was caused by land acquisition and legal issues.

The Deputy Chief Minister further informed the House that the project is now expected to be completed by March 2026. He added that directions have been issued to NHIDCL to ensure quality work and timely completion of the project.
