The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has issued stringent directives for all hostels and paying guest (PG) facilities in Mokokchung District, prioritizing the safety and welfare of students. Hostel owners, wardens, and related stakeholders have been instructed to strictly follow the guidelines without deviation.

In co-educational hostels, separate wardens must be appointed for boys and girls, and cross-entry into rooms is strictly prohibited. CCTV cameras with adequate lighting must be installed at entrances, exits, hallways, and study halls, along with proper fencing around hostel premises. Electronic gadgets and mobile phones are to be kept in the custody of hostel authorities, with usage allowed only during specified times.

Students whose parents reside outside Mokokchung must have a local guardian approved by both the proprietor and parents, and students themselves cannot serve as guardians.

Ragging, verbal, or physical abuse is strictly prohibited, and defaulters will face expulsion. Fire extinguishers and emergency medical facilities must be installed to ensure the safety and well-being of students. The consumption of tobacco and intoxicating substances is completely banned, and violators will be expelled. Non-registered hostels are required to obtain a valid NOC from the AKM Office immediately. From the 2026 academic session, separate hostels must be maintained for boys and girls from Class 8 and above, and all hostels must ensure hygienic, nutritious, and safe food is provided in a clean environment.

For paying guest facilities, students below Class 12 will not be allowed to stay from the 2026 academic session. The AKM has also directed timely inspections by the concerned Student Union, and any hostel or PG facility found violating these directives will face appropriate action.
