The 8th Commencement Day for the Class of 2022, C-Edge College was held on the 6th of May 2022 at the GK auditorium. The event is dedicated to the Graduating students from Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The procession of the outgoing Class of 2022 marked the beginning of the programme. The entire event was hosted by Vesulu Puro of BA IV Semester and was dedicated by Kuhusheyi Chotso, Pastor of NUVBC.

Er. Moa Aier, President, CEC delivered the opening address where he stressed on the importance of learning new skills and a new language and how this will help the students in their future endeavour. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by Daisy Shitio, Dean of Social Science and Humanities, CEC.

 

One of the highlights of the event was the College Awards presided by Dr. Chubatola Aier, Principal, CEC. Students were conferred the various awards based on their attendance, academic merit and leadership role, namely the SPEAR Prize, Ramanathan Award for EVS topper, NUVEU Student of the Year, Best Star, Star Attendance Award, Champion Star Attendance Awards, Laurel Merit Awards, Outgoing CEC Students Forum Leaders Certification and Overall House Champion Award.

 

Shanavas C, IAS, Principal Director, School Education, Govt. of Nagaland graced the event as the Commencement Speaker. He exhorted the Graduating Class of 2022 to pursue higher, to overcome fear and challenges. He also highlighted on the significance of public speaking and that students should not be scared to upgrade it. Shanavas further stressed on the importance of maintaining civic sense and how the younger generation can contribute towards the growth of the state.

 

This year’s commencement student representative speakers were Kumusuka (BBA VI Semester), Tiasenla Ozukum (BA VI Semester) and R Abelo Lotha (BA IV Semester). The song “I’d rather be a servant in your Heavenly House” was presented by the BA IV Semester students. Wapanginla Ao, Dean of Management Studies & IQAC Co-ordinator, CEC presided over the Reading of Roll of the Outgoing Students. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Duvolu Rhakho, Asst. Professor, CEC.
