The School of Engineering and Technology (SET), Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, successfully concluded its three-day national-level technical festival “TechAura-2025” on November 7. Held from November 5 to 7 under the theme “Where Insights Ignite Innovation,” the event brought together students, experts, and institutions to celebrate technology, creativity, and collaboration.

The festival was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, who spoke on the role of technological advancement in shaping the Indian Knowledge System. He encouraged students to take the lead in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, stating that the nation’s future depends on young technocrats who combine creativity with social responsibility.

The inaugural session was attended by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Venuh, Director General of Police Rupin Sharma, IPS, and Dean of SET Prof. Sujata Dash. In his keynote address, Rupin Sharma spoke on cybercrime and cybersecurity, urging students to remain vigilant and proactive in countering digital threats. Prof. Dash, in her welcome address, emphasized that events like TechAura foster innovation and teamwork among students. Faculty Convenor Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar expressed gratitude to all guests, participants, and volunteers for making the event a success.

Across three days, TechAura-2025 featured over twenty competitions, including robotics, model presentations, truss bridge design, techno art, photography, spelling bee, and the “Voice of TechAura.” Other highlights included gaming tournaments, dance performances, and the “Battle of Bands,” drawing enthusiastic participation from students across Nagaland, Dimapur, and Kohima. The campus buzzed with energy and creativity as participants showcased their technical and artistic talents.

Since its inception in 2010, TechAura has grown into one of the most awaited national-level technical festivals in the region, serving as a platform for young innovators to exchange ideas and explore emerging technologies.

The Valedictory Ceremony on November 7 marked the conclusion of the festival, graced by L Lanuwabang, Director and Scientist ‘F’, NIELIT Kohima, and Mr. Abhishek Mishra, Additional Director and Officer-in-Charge, STPI Kohima. Both speakers encouraged students to pursue excellence in technology and digital innovation, highlighting the importance of continuous learning in an ever-evolving world.

The organizers extended heartfelt thanks to the University administration, faculty, and student committee for their support. TechAura-2025 reaffirmed SET Nagaland University’s dedication to nurturing innovation and shaping a technologically empowered generation.
