The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has urged the Government of Nagaland for the “immediate appointment of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) Chairman and Members,” citing concerns over the prolonged delay in filling these key positions.

In a representation addressed to the Chief Minister, the NSF noted that the “Commission’s Chairman and Members demitted office on 13th September 2025″ and expressed that it is “deeply concerning that no appointment has been made to fill these crucial positions till date.”

The Federation highlighted that the “persistent vacancy has created administrative stagnation within the Commission, resulting in unnecessary hurdles for aspirants, particularly those affected by the upper age limit criteria.” The delay, the NSF said, “not only disrupt[s] the examination calendar but also jeopardise[s] the aspirations and future prospects of numerous candidates across the state.”

Appealing for swift action, the NSF stated that it is “constrained to appeal to your esteemed office for the immediate appointment of NPSC Chairman and Members to ensure the smooth functioning of the Commission while facilitating the timely conduct of examinations and related recruitment processes.”

The Federation emphasized that the appeal is made “with utmost sincerity and trust that the Government will accord it due priority in the larger interest of the student and youth community.”

The representation was signed by NSF President Mteisding and Assistant General Secretary Veze Tunyi and copies were marked to the Chief Secretary, Press & Media, and the NSF office.
