The Administrative Training Institute conducted the inaugural program for the foundation course of the Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) probationers on 21st November 2025 at ATI, Kohima. The program was chaired by Peter Konyak, Lecturer. A round of self-introduction was given by the trainees followed by an overview of the course delivered by Kaholi Sema, Joint Director and Course Coordinator.

The special address was delivered by V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Director General, ATI, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture) and Agricultural Production Commissioner. In his address, he congratulated the trainees on their success and stated that such success can be achieved only through continuous hard work over their entire student life. He also acknowledged the unseen contributions of their families and communities. He urged them to give back to society by setting an example as role model employees and citizens. He appealed to the trainees to conduct themselves with integrity, live up to expectations, and continue to work hard.
The Secretariat being a think tank of the State Government where all policies are shaped, he suggested that they should make use of the opportunity to serve society. He stated that in work one must have a larger vision for the good of people and society.
Forty NSS trainees who cleared the recently conducted NPSC CSE (Nagaland Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination) will be attached to ATI for a period of four months of intensive foundation training.
