The Government of Nagaland has issued a notification allowing the sale and consumption of liquor to foreign nationals during the Hornbill Festival from 1 to 10 December 2025. The order was issued by the Department of Excise and Prohibition under the powers conferred by Section 16 of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989.

According to the notification, interested parties may submit their requirements to the Office of the Commissioner of Excise and Prohibition, Dimapur, from 29 November to 10 December 2025.

The Commissioner has been authorized to regulate temporary licensing, procurement, and sale of liquor for the period, with necessary safeguards to prevent misuse.

The notification was issued by Kovi Meyase, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland.
