The 49th Evergreen Volleyball Tournament 2025, one of the oldest continuously running volleyball tournaments in Nagaland, concluded successfully at Ungma with enthusiastic participation and dignified ceremonies.

Organised by the Evergreen Club, the tournament featured eight teams and reaffirmed its rich legacy since its inception in 1976 through competitive matches marked by discipline and sportsmanship. In a closely contested final, Changtongya Volleyball Association emerged champions after defeating defending champions Ozumi to lift the title, with the match showcasing high-quality volleyball.
Individual excellence was recognised at the closing ceremony. Rishilong of Changtongya Volleyball Association was named Best Setter, while Tenzuk received the Best Spiker award. Hinovi of Ozumi was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his consistent performance despite his team finishing runners-up.
The closing ceremony was graced by I. Limasunep Longkumer, Joint Director, Soil and Water Conservation, Government of Nagaland, as Guest of Honour, who highlighted the importance of regular practice and the need for an indoor stadium. The inaugural programme was earlier attended by Er. Sentiwabang, Assistant Engineer, Nagaland University. The organisers thanked sponsors and marked the tournament as a lead-up to the 50th Golden Jubilee edition next year.
