The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) will host its 52nd Biennial General Conference from January 28 to 30, 2026, at Satoi Town in Zunheboto District, under the theme “Revitalizing Traditional Values.” The conference is being organized by the Satoi Range Students’ Union (SRSU) and will bring together 1,500 delegates from 17 federating units and other sub-units.

On the first day, G. Kaito Aye, Minister of Roads and Bridges, Government of Nagaland, will serve as Chief Host for the introductory session. Hukiye Yepthomi, Convenor of the Central Organizing Committee, SKK, will highlight the significance of the conference.

The inaugural session on January 29 will feature KT Sukhalu, MLA and Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, as Chief Guest. Sukhalu will also officially unveil the monolith commemorating the 52nd Biennial General Conference of SKK at Satoi Town.

Evening sessions will include a keynote address on “Revitalizing Traditional Values” by Kakheli Inato Jimomi, former Women Secretary of the Western Sümi Baptist Churches Association (WSBAK). Kitoho Rotokha, former SKK President (1997-1999), will address the gathering and share reflections on the union’s legacy.

The final day, January 30, will feature a formal devotional service with Dr Hutton Sümi, Pastor of Sümi Baptist Church, as Guest Speaker. The closing ceremony will be graced by Hekani Jakhalu, MLA and Advisor for Industries and Commerce, as Guest of Honor.

An “Elders Talk” session titled “Naga Nationalism: A Way Forward” will feature Y Aheto Sema as Guest Speaker. Prominent leaders from the Sumi community and other student organizations, including Dr Vihuto Asumi, President of Sümi Hoho, and Zuchobemo Jungio, President of the Central Nagaland Students Association, will deliver greetings.

The conference marks a historic return to Satoi Town, which last hosted a pivotal SKK gathering in 1979 under KT Sukhalu’s presidency. That conference played a key role in promoting student welfare and preserving Sumi culture. Now, 47 years later, the 52nd Biennial General Conference continues this legacy, symbolizing unity, education, and cultural preservation among the Sumi people, according to Vitoka K Aye, Convener of the Media Cell for the event.

All official delegates are requested to reach the venue by 12 noon on January 28, 2026.
