Government Middle School (GMS) Pongentola, Mokokchung, has announced that all students enrolled in the school will be allowed to study free of cost for the entire academic year as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The decision means that no fees of any kind will be charged from any student for the year, marking a rare and laudable gesture aimed at easing the financial burden on families and encouraging continued enrolment.
The announcement was made by Head Teacher Moachila, who said the initiative was part of the school’s effort to commemorate its 75 years of service in the field of education and to give back to the community that has sustained the institution over the decades.
GMS Pongentola, one of the oldest schools in Mokokchung, is located in Aongza Ward.
